Dinel Investment Counsel, Inc. ABOUT US R. H. Dinel Investment Counsel, Inc. (“RHDIC”) was established in West Los Angeles in 1992 by Richard H. Dinel (“Dick”) and Joyce K. Dinel. Dick is a graduate of Stanford Law School. Prior to forming RHDIC, he was a partner in a large Los Angeles law firm where he devoted most of his attention to securities law. This was natural for him as he grew up in a household which was interested in securities. (His father was in the securities business in Los Angeles from 1924 to 1968.) Dick bought his first stock when he was nine. Joyce was a trust officer in the Beverly Hills District Trust Office of a large California based bank. In this position she acquired substantial experience helping families in various circumstances conserve and deploy their wealth. Robert Terrell joined the firm in February 2025. He earned his MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Prior to joining RHDIC, Robert was the Director of Investments at Karlin Asset Management, a multi-billion dollar single family office in Los Angeles. Robert was responsible for a portfolio of external fund manager investments, individual securities, and strategic private investments totaling more than $900 million.
