Our Team Matthew Smith Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer Mr. Smith is an experienced biotech investor and responsible for all investment decisions and strategies at Readout Capital. He was previously a partner and associate portfolio manager at Lion Point Capital, where he led biotech investing in both a multi-strategy generalist fund and a dedicated biotech fund. He has a B.A. from Stanford University and a J.D. from Yale Law School. James Dahlman, PhD Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Dahlman is responsible for all medical and scientific diligence at Readout Capital. He previously worked with Mr. Smith as an outside consultant at Lion Point Capital and was on the biotech investment team at Google Ventures. His inventions have been licensed to over 60 companies. He is also a tenured professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory Medical School, where his lab spun out two successful biotechs. He received his Ph.D. in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics from MIT and Harvard Medical School. Contact
